Innovation

Social innovations are new or improved solutions (products, services and models) that simultaneously meet social needs and create new social relationships or collaborations

Social innovations deploy effective solutions to challenging and often systemic social and environmental issues in support of social progress and wellbeing.

Social innovations address social needs in more effective ways than existing solutions. These innovations not only meet these needs but also create and foster new social relationships and/or collaborations, especially creative collaborations that foster rapport at a deeper level.

Social innovations may focus on improving working conditions, education, community development or health. These ideas are created with the goal of extending and strengthening civil society.
