④ Arouse the reader's interest.
Include thoughts and images
that will capture your reader's attention, arouse their
curiosity,
and get them involved in what you have to communicate. If appropriate,
use a conversational style – write the way you talk.
⑤ Say exactly what you mean; use
metaphors to make difficult things clear.
⑥ Use a format that guides the reader:
title, summary, introduction, body, conclusion, appendices, if any. Use
simple words and short sentences.
⑦ Keep it as short as possible; don't
nullify your attempt to communicate by saying too much and boring your
readers. Review your writing and get rid of fillers and wasted words. |
