BRICS

 

 

 

 

BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising nine countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The BRICS mechanism aims to promote peace, security, development and cooperation. BRICS was initially formed in 2006 and consisted of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It has since expanded to include new member states.

 

 

 

BRICS promotes cross-border investments, economic cooperation, political dialogue, and cultural exchange among its members.

The BRICS countries comprise more than a quarter of the global economy and almost half of the world's population.

The combined GDP of BRICS countries in 2024 exceeded $60 trillion, surpassing that of the G7 countries.
