Charisma Defined
In his 1947 book, Theory of
Social and Economic Organization,
Max Weber defined charisma as a
“gift” that leads a person to be
“treated as a
leader”
based on their perceived
“supernatural, superhuman, or at
least specifically exceptional
powers or qualities” that are
“not accessible to the ordinary
person.”
Webster's Dictionary defines
charisma as “a personal magic of
leadership arousing special
popular loyalty or enthusiasm
for a public figure.”
